Vote for UDA Candidates, Mandago Tells Soy Locals

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has asked voters in Soy Constituency to support all UDA candidates in the upcoming polls.

Speaking when he led UDA/Kenya Kwanza campaigns in Kipsomba, Cheplelachbei, Kabenes, Ziwa, Bronjo, Lower Moiben, Mandago said by voting in UDA candidates, will help push the Bottom Up agenda in National Assembly, Senate and County Assemblies.

Among the key positions, the county boss says UDA needs to occupy in the National Assembly and Senate, is the leader of the majority and Speaker.

He also asked the locals to support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid.

Soy is among the constituencies in Uasin Gishu that has a strong independent candidate facing off with the UDA candidate.

Dr Elias Melly, who finished third in the UDA Soy MP nominations opted to seek the seat as an independent candidate, against the current Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat who won the nomination.

Mandago has been leading the UDA team in asking locals to reject independent candidates.

Moiben UDA MP candidate Prof. Phylis Bartoo. She is facing incumbent Silas Tiren, an independent candidate.

There are several other elective seats in the County with candidates vying on an independent ticket among them Moiben Constituency which has incumbent Silas Tiren, Ainabkoi’s William Chepkut and Dr Swarup Mishra in Kesses.

The Uasin Gishu gubernatorial contest is another hotly contested seat, pitting a UDA candidate against an independent.

Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja, a UDA candidate is facing off against independent candidate billionaire businessman Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotic Buzeki.

Mandago is also facing competition from an independent candidate in his bid to become the next Uasin Gishu Senator.

The independent candidate is broadcaster Robert Arap Kemei who finished third in the UDA primaries.
