300 Patients Operated For Free During MTRH/Lions Club Eldoret Sponsored Eye Camp

The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, and Lions Club President, Lion Harpreet Sahota on Monday, December 7, 2021, graced the closing ceremony of MTRH/Lions Club of Eldoret sponsored Eye Camp.

Over 3,200 patients were screened and over 300 operated free of charge, during the week-long exercise that started on November 28, 2021.

Speaking during the event, MTRH CEO lauded the Lions Club of Eldoret led by President Lion Harpreet Sahota for dedicating valuable resources to helping the community.

“Such camps increase our surgical/ medical capacity and access to quality health services by the population,” noted Dr. Aruasa.

Lions Club President was accompanied by; 1st lady Gurmeet Kaur, Catherine Gatua, Vandeep Sagoo, Sanjay Gujral, Shabbir Nurbhai, Pritpal Sains, and Vasakha Sabharwal.

Also present were; Eye Surgeons led by Dr. James Bett – Head of Ophthalmology and the Ophthalmology team, and Hospital Management Team.
