The Kenyan ambassador to China Sarah Serem has jetted back in the country ahead of the official launch of her Uasin Gishu gubernatorial bid.
Amb. Serem, a former chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) announced her return via her official Facebook page.
“Thank you so much my people for the Love. I arrived safely, just finishing a few duties in county 047. To my good people of Uasingishu, We shall walk this Journey together. We must Make Uasingishu Great again. See you soon,” she posted.
Sarah Serem is among a host of public servants expected to officially resign by February 9, 2022, as per the elections laws.
Prior to announcing her arrival, the envoy said she would soon be hitting the ground, in search of the UDA ticket.
“My people! See you shortly. The Journey of transforming uasin-gishu has begun,” she noted in a Facebook post dated February 4, 2022.
Sarah Serem is among a host of individuals eyeing to succeed governor Jackson Mandago.
Others are Kenyan Ambassador to Pakistan Prof Julius Bitok, Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Jonathan Bii, Nairobi Devolution CECM Veska Kangogo, and Ng’enyilel MCA David Sing’oei among others.
The former SRC boss has pledged to focus on 6 agendas if elected.
They are;
- Promote a youth development programme
- Establish the Uasin gishu Youth Service
- Create a Uasingishu Youth Development Programme
- Industrialization
- Empower youth in agriculture
- Youth in business will be cushioned through Tax policies-Tax breaks
With her return, Sarah Serem is expected to host a homecoming soon, as she officially launches her gubernatorial bid.
