Chris Wamalwa Lands Plum State Job

Former Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa has finally landed a plum state job.

Wamalwa has been in the cold since he lost the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat race to George Natembeya.

He had vied for the seat on a Ford Kenya ticket, and was the only Kenya Kwanza candidate.

However, Natembeya – under the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) with the backing of the Azimio coalition carried the day.

Initially, Wamalwa had been appointed a Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) before the positions were declared unconstitutional by the High Court.

Which job has Chris Wamalwa landed?

But after over two years of being jobless, the FORD Kenya Secretary General is finally with a state job.

He was recently appointed the chairman of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) council.

A warm welcome to Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) new National Standard Council Chairman!” the agency posted on its social media pages.

We’re excited to have you on board. As we embark on this new era under your leadership, we are confident that your expertise will drive us toward greater achievements and innovations in matters of standards and quality,” it added.

Will Chris Wamalwa vie for Trans Nzoia Governor seat?

The new appointment will come as a relief for the former MP after his initial appointment as CAS failed to materialise.

But ahead of the 2027 General Election, it remains to be seen whether he will go for the county’s top seat.

Several other politicians have also been linked to be eyeing to unseat Natembeya.

They include former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha and Senator Allan Chesang.

However, none of them has publicly declared their interest for the influential position.
