The County Government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Roads Transport and Public Works is giving technical support in the ongoing construction of a new modern state-of-the-art County Assembly Chambers in Eldoret town.
On Monday, May 6, 2024, Chief Officer Roads and Public Works Eng. Abraham Kiptalam led the projects management team from the Public Works section in a meeting with the client (the County Assembly led by the Speaker Philip Muigei) to discuss the progress of the project.
Among the key issues that were discussed was the project management team to ensure prompt processing of the interim certificates as well as speeding up the works by the contractor.
Speaker Muigei also encouraged the contractor to increase the force to complete the project within the specified time frame and urged both sides to embrace frequent communication on all matters.
“This is a project for the entire county. Let us work together to fulfil all that we have said here so that we can have a project that will benefit all of us including the county government,” he said.

In addition, Chief Officer Eng Abraham Kiptalam said he was impressed with the progress and quality of work by the Public Works team expressing their capability, commitment and experience demonstrated through other projects under them like the construction of EPZ and 64 Stadia.
“We will continue giving our technical support. As a county we are pushing to have our technical team working on all county projects for the county to implement key projects without many challenges,” he noted.
The three-year project is now at 40 per cent complete.
Once complete, the 16-floor building will house the modern Uasin Gishu County Assembly main chambers, speaker and clerks offices, conference hall, meeting rooms as well as a restaurant among others.
