Hearing of a case in which Jackson Odhiambo, the prime suspect in the murder of fashionista Edwin Kiptoo alias Chiloba kicked off on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at an Eldoret High Court.
Odhiambo is accused of killing Chiloba between December 31st, 2022 and January 3rd, 2023 in the Chebisaas area of Moiben Sub-County, before stashing his body in a metallic box and later dumping it along the road in Kipkenyo, Kapseret Sub-County.
He has since denied involvement in the crime.
On the first day of the hearing of the case, the prosecution presented two witnesses – high school students.

The two narrated before High Court judge Reuben Nyakundi how they helped Odhiambo move a metallic box from his house in the Chebisaas area, without knowing it had the body of Chiloba.
They loaded it in a Toyota Fielder that Odhiambo had
“He told us he was going to Maili Tisa, we give him about one hour he will be back we carry the other remaining items,” one of the witnesses told the court.
Puppy’s stool
Further, the two witnesses told the court that the suspect told them the metallic box had dirty clothes, alcohol and a puppy’s stool – the reason it had a foul smell.
“He came and there was a car parked outside the gate and told me to look for a friend we help him move out of the house. There was a pickup that had a driver,” noted Odhiambo’s cousin who is one of the two witnesses.
The metallic box that was used to transport the lifeless body of the late Chiloba was in court during the hearing.

Chiloba’s body was found in the box on January 3, 2023, along Kipenyo-Kaptinga road after locals said they saw a numberless vehicle drop it.
The prime suspect of the murder was arrested two days after the body was discovered alongside several others that have since been set free.
The hearing for the case continues.
