CPA Ruto: Ruto’s Cabinet Pick Resonates Well with People

Kesses Member of Parliament CPA Julius Ruto has hailed President William Ruto’s choice of his first cabinet.

Ruto, a few weeks ago named his first cabinet that is dominated by politicians.

While there have been criticisms over the inclusion of politicians in the cabinet, the legislator says they are the right people for the job.

He argues that politicians understand the people’s needs on the ground and hence will be able to deliver their mandate.

Most of them have been Members of Parliament. They understand the dynamics on the ground and have stayed close to the people, unlike technocrats picked from the class or jobs who never had an opportunity to listen to people on the ground,” notes CPA Ruto.

According to the legislator serving his first term, technocrats usually make rushed decisions that end up hurting the people.

People picked in the cabinet have travelled with mwananchi and their leadership will be different. I know they will address issues of the people,” he added.

The 22-member cabinet that the Head of State nominated, includes several politicians among them Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, former Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and Kandara’s Alice Wahome.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, former Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua, former Meru Senator Mithika Linturi and Former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria among others.

Aside from naming his cabinet, Ruto has also appointed several senior officials to serve in various influential positions and advisory roles.

The Kesses MP notes that the President has surrounded himself with individuals who have rich knowledge and experience.

After five years, it won’t be a problem for Ruto because he is a hands-on person. Look at the advisors he has picked. They are people with knowledge, rich with understanding and experience,” said the legislator.

The National Parliament has already started vetting the nominees to the Cabinet.
