The school fraternity at Chebarus in Sitatunga ward and its immediate neighbors are set to benefit from several development projects courtesy of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya’s administration.
Speaking at the institution on Monday where he officially opened a twin ECDE classroom constructed by the county government, the governor affirmed that he will provide solar panels to pump water for the school and the community.
He further said the county administration will install solar panels to pump water from the school borehole replacing the current electricity-powered submersible pump which is costly for the school to run.
“We shall do test pumping to check on the water levels and then bring solar panels and a huge water tank so that we can also have a water kiosk for the community around,” the county boss said.
Further, Natembeya pledged to construct ablution blocks for the school to replace the otherwise dilapidated ones and which have been condemned by the Public Health Officials.
Over time and with plentiful of water within, added the county boss, the county government will put up flash toilets for the ECDE pupils.

A maternity wing will also be established at the Chebarus Dispensary to aid expectant mothers who have been seeking for services from Kapsara Sub County Hospital or Kitale Level Four Hospital all which are far from the area.
In addition, Natembeya said he will set up a special bursary kitty for candidates who fail to reach the minimum threshold score to warrant them issuance of Elimu bursaries owing to poverty-related contributing factors.
The governor also disclosed that vetting of groups from the region who would be seeking the Nawiri Fund would be held on July 26 at Chebarus Center.
The governor’s itinerary also saw him reactivate Chematich Cattle Dip, opening of ECDE classrooms at Sibanga, Makoi and Marura besides commissioning of the Makoi-Sumbeywo as well as issuance of incubators to 30 women groups at AIC Sinendet.
During the visit, the governor was accompanied by the County Secretary Truphosa Amere, CECMs Sam Ojwang (Education), Kichwen Ruto (Public Service), Amboka (Roads and Public Works), Phanice Khatundi Agriculture) as well as Chief Officers led by Samy Sichangi (Governance) and area MCA Simon Murei among other leaders.
