The Defence Forces Recruit Training School (DFRTS) has marked a significant milestone.
This is after it officially received recruits for Cohort 01/25 in an event that was presided over by Brigadier Alphonce Ndar of KDF in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
While addressing the recruits, Brig Ndar wished them success in their training.

“I wish you nothing but success, stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and approach your training with discipline and commitment,” he said.
The recruits will undergo document verification, medical screening, biometric registration, issuance of a kit and an initial orientation to prepare them for the foundational military training.

According to KDF, the military training for the recruits covers discipline, physical conditioning, field craft, leadership development and core soldiering skills.
The cohort comprises general duty recruits as well as tradesmen and tradeswomen who were successful in the recently concluded nationwide recruitment drive.
