Eldoret to Experience Water Supply Interuption

Locals within Eldoret town that depend on water from the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas) will experience an interruption of water supply this week.

According to a notice from Eldowas, the interuption will affect several residential estates on a variety of dates.

Customers to be affected are those that depend on water from the Naiberi and Chebara Water Treatment Plants.

The two plants have a scheduled routine maintainance.

On Tuesday, Eldowas customers in Kipkorgot and Annex estates, as well as surrounding areas will experience an interuption of water supply.

This is to notify our esteemed customers from Kipkorgot, Annex and the surrounding areas that there will be a temporary interuption in water supply from the Naiberi Water Treatment Plant,” Eldowas said in part of the notice.

This interuption is scheduled to take place on Tuesday September 5, 2023, commencing 9.00 am and is expected to conclude by 5.00pm. The purpose of this interuption is to facilitate routine maintainance activities,” the company added.

Most of other estates in Eldoret will also experience the interuption in the water supply a day later – although for a longer period.

Chebara Water Treatment Plant

Those that will be affected get their water from the Chebara Water Treatment Plant.

This interuption is scheduled to take place from Wednesday September 6, 2023 starting 9.00 am and will continue until Thursday September 7, 2023 at 6.00 pm,” noted another Eldowas public notice.

Areas that will be affected in the second interuption include Kimumu, University of Eldoret, Marakwet Farm, Kapchumba, upper parts of Maili Nne, Munyaka, Kapsoya, Action and Rift Valley bottlers

Others are upper Elgon View, Annex, Langas, Racecourse, Kapseret, Chepkanga, Marura, Kamukunji, Mwanzo, old Uganda road and nearby areas.

During this period, the other water treatment plants will remain operational to ensure continuity of water supply to unaffected areas,” said Eldowas MD Peter Kibet Arap Biwott
