Eldowas Water Safest, Not Cause of Cholera in Eldoret – MD Biwott

The Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas) has dismissed fears that its water is the cause of Cholera cases reported within Eldoret town.

Eldowas managing director Peter Biwott Kibet says the water that the company supplies to its customers is the safest not only in the country but also beyond.

According to Biwott, Cholera cases might be as a result of alternative sources of water locals resorted to after they introduced tight water rationing following drop in water levels at main dams.

The Eldowas affirmed that water they supply to locals within the Eldoret Municipality is well treated and therefore cannot be the cause of Cholera outbreak.

During the dry spell, our water dropped to very low levels. Consequently, we reviewed our rationing schedule to a tight one. Consequently many residents resorted to alternative sources of water which we have no control over. That may be the cause of cholera,” Biwott said.

ELDOWAS water is well treated and the most safe in the republic and beyond. ELDOWAS water therefore cannot be attributed to cause Cholera but the alternative sources,” he added.
