More than 2,000 bags of fertiliser were delivered to Kapsowar and Chesoi stores on Friday.
Elgeyo Marakwet Agriculture County Executive Committee Member (CECam) Edwin Seroney said more stores will be stocked next week and urged farmers to prepare their farms in readiness for planting.
“I can assure you that there will be enough fertiliser. We are expecting more fertiliser in the coming days,” he said.
“Our governor has assured us that all our stores will be stocked. We are expecting about 40 lorries of fertiliser,” the CECM further told farmers at Chesoi.
Kapsowar NCPB depot manager Dominic Korir further said they expected about 20,000 bags of fertiliser for Chesoi store.
“There are more lorries bringing fertiliser.”
At Chesoi, jubilated farmers redeemed their e-vouchers and paid for their fertiliser, a process they commended as excellent.
“I am happy there are no shortcuts here. I was registered as farmer number 28 and I am happy I have been served, ” said Thomas Kemboi.
As at Friday evening, more than 1,200 farmers had been served at Kapsowar NCPB store.
Farmers who are yet to register for the subsidized fertiliser have since been asked to either contact local agricultural officers or self register by dialling *616*3# while those who have misplaced their e-voucher messages to visit the stored with identification documents and mobile phone number used to register.
