Elgeyo Marakwet: Co-Operative Officers Redeployed In Readiness For Hustler Fund

Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich has ordered the re-deployment of 20 cooperative officers to the wards.

Rotich says the move is meant to improve cooperative movement in the county and also fulfilling part of his campaign pledges of taking services closer to the people.

In line with my campaign pledge under HUDUMA MASHINANI program and to improve cooperative movement in the county, I have today ordered the immediate re-deployment of 20 Co-operative Officers to the Wards,” the county boss said in a post on his Facebook page on October 24, 2022.

According to the governor, the officers will also train members of the public in the ward on cooperative development and help enlist them in new cooperatives and revive dormant ones.

This is in readiness for the President William Ruto’s Hustler Fund set to be released on December  1, 2022.

The Officers are expected to reside at the Ward for easy reach by the members of the Public,” Rotich said.

Further, the respective co-operatives will also be positioned to benefit from other National Government programs like fertilizer and seed subsidies, donor and county Government programs.

The officers, governor Rotich said, are expected to report to their respective ward offices beginning October 25, 2022.
