Building on this long-standing legacy, World Vision Kenya has officially renewed its commitment to the people of Elgeyo Marakwet.
On Thursday, September 3, 2026, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich joined World Vision leadership to sign a strategic four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) running through September 2030.
Which areas will Elgeyo Marakwet partner with World Vision?
The transformative partnership spans all five sub-counties and targets ten critical sectors, including:

Health & Basic Needs: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health and Nutrition, and Education.

Economic Development: Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Cooperatives, Trade, and Industry.

Resilience & Environment: Climate Change Adaptation, Natural Resources, and Disaster Risk Reduction.

Community Empowerment: Youth, Gender and Social Services, alongside Strategic Resource Mobilisation.
The World Vision delegation was led by Interim National Director Dr Gershon Mwakazi, joined by Director of Programme Effectiveness and Impact Fredrick Kasiku, Dr Heglon Kitawi, and Dr Wairimu Mugare. Representing the county government alongside Governor Rotich were County Secretary Lazarus Chebii, CECs Edwin Kibor and Edwin Seroney, County Attorney Dorcas Cheruiyot, and various departmental Chief Officers.
This renewed pact marks a major milestone in deepening local collaboration to drive sustainable community growth and child well-being across Elgeyo Marakwet.
