Espodec-Muhoroni Starlets were over the weekend held to a barren draw by visiting University of Eldoret (UoE) Queens in the FKF Upper Rift Regional Women’s League encounter.
Playing at home – Hill School Grounds, Espodec sought to extend their stay at the top of the table with a win.
However, UoE Queens put up a spirited fight that ensured they returned home with at least a point.

Speaking after the game, Espodec-Muhoroni Starlets head coach Maurice Kamau said the girls played to their best ability.
Kamau said injuries four of their star players was partly to blame for the draw.
Espodec missing key players
The team’s star striker Ynah Cheptoo was also not available for several as she was in Nairobi for the Nastic Academy Sports Clinic.
Cheptoo attended the clinic alongside Nelious Jebet who are set to travel to Spain.
“The girls played out their hearts. We played with 4 injured players throughout the game,” Kamau said.
“Also we lacked our talisman Ynah Cheptoo who had attended the Nastic Academy Sports Clinic held in Nairobi, joined by Nelious Jebet who are due to travel to Spain,” he added.
Injured players who missed the weekend game include Betty Chebet who is out with a chest injury and is due to be back after four weeks.

Abigael Chemutai also missed the game as she was out with her school during the athletics regional games in Kapsabet.
In other FKF Upper Rift Regional Women’s League played over the weekend, Huruma Queens beat Eldoret Angles 2-1 while Kipkaren Starlets secured a narrow 1-0 win against their hosts Delegebet FC.
Kapseret Queens silenced BOMA 2-0as Ndabarnach Queens beat Terik Foundation with a similar margin.
Huruma Queens and Huruma Starlets played out to a barren draw in a other game.
