Ex-Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Concedes Defeat

Former Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has conceded defeat following the recently concluded UDA nominations.

Terer was eyeing the UDA ticket for Kesses Constituency parliamentary seat.

He, however, lost the battle to immediate former Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Economic Planning CPA Julius Ruto.

The former Speaker, in a post on his official Facebook page wished the winners the best even as he thanked his supporters.

To all my supporters, agents and campaign teams, please receive my gratitude and appreciation for your selfless support for me in the just concluded UDA primary nominations,” Terer said in a Facebook post.

To all the winners please receive my congratulations and best wishes moving forward,” he added.

This is the second time the ex-county assembly speaker has failed in bid on to vie for Kesses MP seat.

He also lost to the current MP Dr Swarrup Mishra in the 2017 Jubilee party primaries.

Dr Mishra will be defending his seat as an independent candidate.

He opted not to allign himself with any political party.

Terer who served as Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker between 2013-2017 now says he will be shifting focus to campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid.

DP Ruto is expected to fly the Kenya Kwanza Coalition flag in the August 9 presidential poll.

Now allow me to divert my energies and resources to H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto’s presidential campaigns, and I welcome you all to join the Kenya Kwanza campaign team,” he said.
