Faith Kipyegon: My Dream Just Came True

Double World Champion Faith Kipyegon says her dream to win two Gold medals at the World Championship has finally come true.

Kipyegon who is also the three-time world record holder for the 1500m, mile and 5000m admits that it has been an amazing year.

After making history by breaking three world records within months – two in a week – the middle and long distance runner becomes the first woman to win gold in both 1500m and 5000 in one championship.

In a post on her verified Facebook page on Sunday, Kipyegon noted that her success is all thanks to consistency and a focus on not only the finish line but also writing history.

This has been an amazing year for me. Making history yesterday, winning two gold medals in a championships is what I was dreaming for this season. My dream just came true, it is amazing,” the athlete said.

I have been consistent, focused on the finish line and on writing history,” she added.

But even as she cements her reputation as one of the greatest of all middle distance runner in the world, Faith Kipyegon insists she will continue to push herself in the future.

She has also thanked a number of individuals she notes plays a key role in her successes on the track.

My daughter gives me amazing support, she always tells me I can do it. Lastly, I want to thank my amazing team, my coach, my management and all amazing fans!” noted Kipyegon who is also a two-time Olympics Champion.

At both the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Kipyegon won a gold medal in the 1500m.
