In a commitment to unity and inclusivity, Governor George Natembeya on Saturday affirmed his dedication to providing equal opportunities for all communities in Trans Nzoia County.
Speaking at a Thanks Giving ceremony in Amagoro Park, Kitale, celebrating the appointment of Chief Officer Kennedy Etiang Seme, the governor emphasized the vital importance of considering every community, especially the minority like the Sengwer and Teso, in the county’s development and management.
The event, graced by His Highness Papah Emormor, leader of the Iteso Kingdom, praised Governor Natembeya’s leadership for fostering peace and harmony among the diverse communities within the county.
Emormor attributed the county’s reputation as a bastion of peace to its equitable representation of communities.
Trans Nzoia County Deputy Governor Philomenah Kapkory further commended the unifying role of the Iteso community leadership in Kenya and neighboring Uganda, underscoring its ability to forge a shared development agenda.

She also urged other communities in the county to follow suit, ensuring direction and progress for their people.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of various leaders, including Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi and MCAs Francis Were (Tuwani), Furaha Lusweti (Waitaluk), Saboti’s Cheloti, Jackline Kurgat of Motosiet Ward and Emily Rono (Makutano), along with several County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers.
