President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant, Farouk Kibet and Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago have called on the Kalenjin community in Trans Nzoia County to rally behind Kiminini Member of Parliament Maurice Kakai Bisau who is warming up to challenge Governor George Natembeya in 2027 gubernatorial contest.
Speaking to residents of Cherang’any Constituency during a fundraiser for 52 churches and interdenominational prayers held at AIC Chepsiro Primary School grounds, Farouk said Bisau is fit to become the third governor of the cosmopolitan County.
Why is Farouk against Natembeya?
The vocal PA took a swipe at Governor Natembeya accusing him of promoting tribalism by discriminating against other communities.
“You the people of Cherang’any, we have heard your complaints that you have been neglected by your tribal Governor. Please, if you want to enjoy being in Trans Nzoia, vote for Kakai Bisau and send Natembeya home,” Farouk told the faithful who attended the fundraiser.

Mandago on his part said Natembeya should not have been elected as the Governor of Trans Nzoia arguing that he lacks integrity.
The Senator who was strongly opposed to Natembeya’s candidature in 2022 general elections recalled how the former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner admitted that Kerio Valley bandits had superior weapons than the ones used by Kenyan security officers.
“The Governor of this county is only popular here in Trans Nzoia. When you go to Mau, he is remembered for demeaning the Kipsigis community. In Kerio Valley, he is considered to be very incompetent. How can a coward like him be elected the President of Kenya?” Mandago asked.
Natembeya has previously said he has ambitions of vying for the presidency.
What is Bisau’s plan for Kalenjin community in Trans Nzoia?
On his part, Bisau assured the people of Cherang’any Constituency that they will be part of his administration if he wins in the gubernatorial race.
“You (Kalenjins) will be part of my government. I will fix all the problems and transform Trans Nzoia into a model county in Kenya because we have an elaborate plan to do so,” he assured them.

Other leaders who attended the event include Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, Trans Nzoia Woman Representative Lilian Siyoi, Senator Allan Chesang’, Mining PS Harry Kimtai, his Foreign Affairs counterpart, Korir Sing’oei among other local leaders.
During the fundraiser, over Ksh. 18 million was raised.
