An additional 7 Uasin Gishu Chief Officers whose nomination was approved by Members of the County Assembly on Wednesday have formally assumed office.
The 7 were nominated by Governor Jonathan Bii and their names were later forwarded to the Assembly for consideration.
Various committees vetted the nominees over two weeks ago and they later presented their reports that recommended their approval on Wednesday.
Barely day after they were given a green light to serve in their respective dockets, the additional chief officers have since been formally appointed.
This is after signing their oaths of office in a brief ceremony that was witnessed by the county boss as well as several high-ranking officers.
The event was held at the county headquarters in Eldoret town.
“The final batch of Uasin Gishu County’s Chief Officers have duly signed their oaths of office and are set and ready to assume their official duties in fostering the implementation of the Nguzo Kumi blueprint for our collective development progress,” Bii said in an update on his official Facebook page.
The 7 additional Chief Officers are;
- Felix Kimaru – ICT, E-Government and Innovation.
- Mark Some – Administration and Devolution.
- Elphas Kesio – Trade, Industry, Investment and Tourism.
- Geoffrey Kirwa Tanui – Cooperatives and Industrial Development.
- Victorine Jepkorir Kapkiai – Economic Planning.
- Nathan Korir – Lands and Physical Planning.
- Abraham Kiptalam – Roads, Transport and Public Works.
They now join the earlier approved 13 Chief Officers who have since started serving.
Uasin Gishu County Executive is now complete with 10 members of the cabinet as well as 20 Chief Officers.
“Congratulations on your respective appointments as you endeavour to discharge your mandate with distinction,” Governor Bii told the newly appointed Chief Officers.
