First Choice Recruitment Agency Permanently Closes Eldoret Office

First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency has permanently closed its offices in Eldoret town.

The agency has been operating from an office at City Plaza, within the Eldoret Central Business District (CBD) for the last over two years.

It had hired over half of the third floor of the building as its office of operation – handling tens of job seekers on a daily basis.

But following controversies that the agency has had within the last few weeks, it has now moved out of the offices.

A spot check by Uasin Gishu News however shows that First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency has removed all the brandings it had done on the floor.

A tenant at the building told our reporter that the brandings were removed over the weekend.

They removed the stickers on the windows and moved out their items from Saturday and Sunday,” the tenant who sought anonymity told Uasin Gishu News.

Continuous demonstrations

The agency’s move to permanently close down the office comes just weeks after it announced it had temporarily closed it.

The floor at City Plaza, in Eldoret, that had hosted First Choice Agency after the branding was removed.

In a notice that had been put at the entrance of the office, the management said it was shutting down the office due to continuous demonstrations from job applicants who claimed they had been conned.

We are sorry to let you know that we have closed our physical office as from 19th October 2022 to 1st December 2022. This is due to the inconveniences caused by the continuous demonstrations, threat of life and destruction o property,” the agency said in the notice.

But with them removing their brandings at the building, the offices will after all not be opening on December 1, 2022.

However, it is not yet clear whether they will be relocating to another building in Eldoret.

First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency describes itself as a registered firm that recruits Human Resource(s) to work and live in Canada, Qatar and Poland.

It was however accused of receiving hundreds of thousands of shillings from individuals who were promised jobs in Qatar during the ongoing World Cup in Qatar, a promise that some claim was never kept.

But amid the claims of conning its customers, the agency’s director Judy Chepchirchir insisted that they were a legitimate recruitment agency.

The agency has so far taken over 7,000 Kenyan youths currently working in Qatar while others to Poland and Canada,” First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency Managing Director Judy Chepchirchir told journalists.
