The County Government of Uasin Gishu has committed to supporting youths that have come up with various innovations.
Youth Affairs, Sports, ICT and Innovation County Executive Committee Member Eng. Lucy Ng’endo Njoroge says any local that has an innovation, especially youth will get all the necessary support to advance it.
Speaking in Eldoret, the CECM admits that the county has many innovations that only need support to be actualized.
“There are many innovations that we have around today. We welcome youths if they have any innovative ideas to come out. We’re willing to partner with them,” said Eng. Ng’endo.

The CECM further challenged the youth to take advantage of modern technological advancement for their own benefit.
Further, she said the county is ready and willing to come up with policies that will enable the young generation to make use of technology to earn a living.
“The technology today welcomes the youths and gives them a platform where they can advance in many areas. We are looking at a way we can help the youth earn a living while on their phones,” said Eng. Njoroge.
The current technological advancement has created a new automated age with the county government of Uasin Gishu recently hinting at embracing it in farming practices.
With Agriculture, the backbone of Uasin Gishu’s economy, the use of modern technology has been seen as one way to enhance productivity and address the food security situation.
Kenya is considered the leading technology and innovation hub in Africa.
