Forum for Restoration of Democracy (FORD) Kenya Youth League in Trans Nzoia has unveiled a strategy it hopes will help them capture all the 33 elective seats in the county in the 2027 general elections.
The chairman of the league Harrison Wesa said the party is eyeing to win the governor, senator, woman representative seats as well Members of Parliament in all the five constituencies and Members of County Assembly in all the 25 wards in Trans Nzoia County
Wesa said the second oldest party that fought for multi-party democracy in Kenya will soon roll out membership recruitment drive in all villages across the vast county with a population of over 1 million people.
The mega recruitment drive will be coupled with other corporate social responsibilities.
“We want to reclaim our lost glory by capturing all the seats in the next elections. We are going to visit the sick in hospitals, motivate high school and tertiary institutions students, plant trees in partnership with Kenya Forest Service and visit orphanages to show love to orphans in Trans Nzoia. While doing all these, we shall be recruiting new members,” Wesa said.

The party organ also plans to bring back all the members who decamped to other political parties.
“Trans Nzoia County is the base of FORD Kenya and as you all know truth, justice and equality are our pillars. We are asking all our party members who joined other small parties to come back to where they belong. FORD Kenya is the party of the future,” he urged members who defected to other political parties.
Laureen Opondo, the youth vice chairperson said the party led by the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula will build the capacity of all the youth league officials from all the five sub branches. The capacity building is scheduled for June 2025.
She revealed that the party banks on the strength of party bloggers to disseminate their messages to all party members.
“We have a vibrant team of bloggers and communication directors. We will rely on them to set the agenda of clinching all the seats in this county. Watch our space,” she said.
On his part, Kevin Owala said all the 2022 candidates who lost to candidates will also steer the agenda.
“We don’t want to be confused by what is happening in our county. We are focused on making our dream reality and that is why we need all the 2022 candidates to board this train,” Owala stated.
The ambitious youth league holds a firm belief that their party leader will take over from President William Ruto in 2032.
“Making Moses Masika Wetangula the sixth President of Kenya is not a joke. Wetangula’s 2032 Presidency is a work in progress,” Wesa added.
FORD Kenya did not perform well in 2022 elections where the party managed to get three MCA seats and one MP seat.
