A section of FORD Kenya leaders has hit out at Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya who recently said the party should reciprocate President William Ruto’s favour by up.
In an interview with Uasin Gishu News, FORD Kenya’s deputy party leader and Kwanza Constituency Member of Parliament Ferdinand Wanyonyi said Natembeya’s remarks were uncalled.
Wanyonyi also accused the county boss of biting more than he can chew.
“He is mistaken. Please, that is not very good for my brother Mr. Natembeya to have said what he said because that is an insult. I want to remind him that FORD Kenya is the second oldest party after KANU and we are not folding. If there was any attempt I will be the last person to fold because I am one of the founding members of FORD Kenya,” the MP said.

In addition, Wanyonyi said there is no justifiable reason to fold FORD Kenya and said that any person championing for folding of Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties is an enemy of democracy in Kenya.
FORD Kenya deserved more in Kenya Kwanza
He also dismissed Natembeya’s remark that FORD Kenya is ungrateful.
“The position of the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula and that of health CS Dr. Susan Nakhumicha were not given to us as favors but we got them as our right. In fact we deserved more positions than what we got because we formed the Kenya kwanza government as affiliate parties,” Wanyonyi stated.
On her part, FORD Kenya National vice chairperson who is also a nominated Member of County Assembly in Trans Nzoia Margaret Wanjala said Kiminini and Cherang’any constituency Members of Parliament Kakai Bisau and Patrick Simiyu are comfortable associating with FORD Kenya and not DAP-K.
“We have not snatched the two MPs as you (Natembeya) alleged but they are comfortable in a stable party and if you don’t keep your sheep, we might poach them all including you,” Wanjala said.
She warned Natembeya not to drag President William Ruto’s name into the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala’s call for folding of parties that formed Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

“It is on record that our President William Ruto does not support folding of parties because he is a democrat. He has never said that we should fold our parties and you Natembeya should stop your cheap politics,” she added.
Natembeya-Kapkory feud
Moreover, Machewa ward Member of County Assembly Kisiangani Wambwa said FORD Kenya Party Leader and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula should not be linked to Natembeya and his deputy Philomena Kapkory rivalry.
“Moses Masika Wetangula is a senior politician respected nationally and I don’t think he can sabotage your government. If you have issues with your deputy, then do not associate those issues with our party leader,” Wambwa said.
They were responding to Natembeya who accused the Simba party of being behind his diffrences with his DP Philemona Kapkory.
