Governor Bill Calls For Development Of Policies That Will See Residents Access Quality, Timely Services

The County Government of Uasin Gishu aims to improve services for its residents through setting of specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound deliverables as outlined in the performance contracting plan.

The commitment of Governor Jonathan Bii is to to put frameworks to set targets and measure performance as well as outputs for an effective public service.

Performance contracting plan requires departments to set specific goals and targets, that aims at achieving tangible outcomes, all inclined to positively impacting the lives of the residents.

Addressing the County top officials on the last day of performance contracting training, Governor Bii urged the health sector to put in place policies that will contribute to improving the quality of service delivery to the residents.

He also said his administration understands the importance of health care as a tool that hinges a healthy, an active and productive society.

As a Department, you are mandated to improve the livelihoods of the residents by developing policies that will see residents access quality and timely responses within their reach.”

Specific outcomes

My second pillar of improving health for the people of Uasin Gishu needs proactive approach towards improving the well-being of the community,” Bii reiterated

County Executive for Health Services, Dr. Sam Kotut, further emphasized the need for specific outcomes that will have a significant impact on the residents’ livelihoods, plans which include accountability and transparency in delivery of services.

He in addition said that the use of the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound) framework in the performance contracting exercise is crucial in ensuring that the objectives set are realistic and attainable within a specific timeframe.

Performance contracting exercise allows for a more focused and efficient allocation of resources, as well as better monitoring and evaluation of progress therefore demonstrating a genuine concern for the welfare of the residents and a determination to deliver tangible results.
