Governor George Natembeya Appointed DAP-K Deputy Party Leader

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has been appointed as the Deputy Party Leader of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

The decision was announced during a forum held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Aturukan Hotel, where party officials from the national office and county leadership gathered to discuss key issues pertaining to the party’s administration.

Eugene Wamalwa, the party leader, led the DAP-K officials and expressed his confidence in Governor Natembeya’s leadership abilities, stating that he possesses the qualities necessary to elevate the party to new heights.

During the event, Governor Natembeya humbly accepted the role of Deputy Party Leader, expressing his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the party’s leadership.

He emphasized the party’s unified vision of transforming DAP-K into a symbol of democracy and ushering in a prosperous era for the people.

Driving positive change

Prior to the forum, Governor Natembeya had the privilege of hosting Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa in his office.

This visit, according to the governor, exemplifies their shared commitment to driving positive change for Kenya.

He also expressed his determination to work tirelessly, alongside his colleagues, in order to create a brighter future for the nation and its citizens, urging everyone to join forces and make a meaningful impact.

Prominent DAP-K leaders, including General Secretary Eseli Simiyu, Director of Elections Ronald Jumbe, and Cherangany Member of Parliament Patrick Simiyu, were among the attendees at the forum.

DAP-K is a party allied to the Azimio One Kenya coalition.

It was formed months before the 2022 general election after some of the members moved out of the Ford Kenya Party.

During the election, the party had 61 candidates but only 5 were elected to the 13th Parliament of Kenya.
