Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has questioned why the Government of Kenya is silent about the alleged presence of Jubaland Forces in Mandera County.
Speaking at Cherang’any Hills Academy in Sinyereri ward, on Tuesday, September 3, 2025, the former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner warned that the presence of the anti-Somalia government militia group on the Kenyan soil poses a serious threat to Kenya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Are Jubaland forces in Kenya?
“Jubaland Forces are now in Mandera. They have captured three-quarters of Mandera is now captured. Why have we not seen swift response from the security agencies.
Territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya that one is a responsibility of the President, you can’t delegate and you cannot blame anybody. President Ruto that one is your responsibility and we cannot allow even an inch of Kenya to be interfered with,” Natembeya said.
The vocal Governor and fierce critic of Kenya Kwanza administration said his advisory to reconsider the lifting of vetting of Kenyan somalis was ignored and results are being felt.
“Some Government functionaries made me a target hitting at me for going against issuance of identification cards to Kenyan Somalis without vetting; I’m now vindicated and those who blamed me are now seeing it happen right before their eyes,” Natembeya stated.
The self declared opposition leader at the same time slammed the proponents of the unpopular Electronic Procurement System (EPG) for arguing that the system is likely to be usued to siphon public funds.
Is Kenyan government frustrating devolution?
Natembeya further argued that the National Government is determined to frustrate devolution using punitive policies and regulations.
He revealed that the National Treasury is yet to disburse funds to the devolve units thereby grounding operations in the counties. Employees in the Executive and the County Assembly have reportedly not been paid their three months dues.
He also rubbished claims that the Social Health Authority (SHA) is working .
“SHA is the biggest scam. I promise Kenyans that our number one Executive order will be to revoke SHA, EPG and all other unpopular policies once we assume office in 2027,” he added.
