You can always achieve your dreams no matter the situation, as demonstrated by Jannet Jepchirchir Kiplagat.
If you met her at the Eldoret National Polytechnic, you’ll be mistaken to think she is an ordinary security officer.
But she’s not, Jepchirchir is a degree holder. She has a degree in Accounting and Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
The journey to getting a degree was a long and tough one. She started with a diploma at the Eldoret National Polytechnic before upgrading through part-time studies.
Jepchirchir is a mother of 6 children. Her sister took care of the children at the time she was pursuing her degree.
“I want to thank all those who have stood with me since the time I started my journey. My siter has been my biggest support throughout,” Jepchirchir said.
She has been a security officer at the polytechnic since 2018.
She had to balance her job, family and education – but managed to come out successful.
“I want to thank The Eldoret National Polytechnic, led by the Chief Principal, Charles Koech, for supporting me. When I needed them, they were there for me, and I’m truly grateful,” she said.
With her story, Jepchirchir hopes to inspire other young women to go for their dreams no matter their situation.
She challenged them to have their eyes on the ball, and not to let anything hinder them from achieving their dreams.
