Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant on a UDA ticket Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja has formerly settled on Eng. John Barorot as his running mate.
Koti Moja, in a press release dated May 15, 2022, seen by Uasin Gishu News, said Eng. Barorot was the most qualified candidate for the position as per his previous experience and leadership skill
Eng. Barorot is a resident of Tugen Estate farm in Sergoit Ward Moiben Constituency.
“He has over 20 years of progressive experience in the ICT and Telecommunications Industry directly linked with a strong track record of attaining key business goals, innovation, policy development and implementation; strategically a pplying knowledge and skills to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in hig paced organization,” Jonathan Bii Secretariat said in the press release.
The Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor nominee, the Koti Moja secretariat says, has been credited with spearheading successful operations in various companies and has been recognized severally for his contribution.
“When it comes to providing solutions, he ensures that he is always ahead, especially with the current dynamic environment,” Jonathan Bii said.
He expressed optimism that Eng. Barorot will use his experience in solving challenges facing the county “his knowledge in Agriculture and also creating employment for the youth.”
With the naming of the running mate, Koti Moja’s team is now complete and ready to face off with among others billionaire businessman Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich alias Buzeki and former Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) William Kirwa.
Buzeki is vying for the seat as an independent candidate while Kirwa is a United Democratic Movement (UDM) candidate.
Both Buzeki and Kirwa have not revealed their choice of running mate.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had set Monday, May 16, 2022, as the dateline for presidential and gubernatorial aspirants to name their running mates.
The most important consideration was most likely balancing of the communities representation – a Nandi choice would have been criticised.
