Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii has emphasised the commitment by his administration to continue working closely with the County Assembly in the implementation of among others, his “sixth point agenda” on infrastructure development.
Speaking on Thursday at the County Yard in a meeting between the executive, Members of the County Assembly and staff at the Roads, Transport and Public Works department, Governor Bii reiterated the importance of the legislative and the executive arm of the county government working together for the success of key projects aimed at changing the living standards of residents of Uasin Gishu.
He said: “This is an enviable County where the President comes from.I would like to thank the drivers and operators who have always been passionate with work.I want to urge everyone to be embrace team work, remain committed so as to deliver on projects and uplift the lives of our people.”

The meeting which was attended by the Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea, the MCAs led by leader of majority Julius Sang (Megun Ward) and deputy speaker Sarah Malel (Kimumu Ward) outlined more enhanced strategies and plans to fast-track infrastructure projects to achieve the objectives under development pillar six of the Governor’s agenda: infrastructure development for prosperity.

Meanwhile, the County boss thanked the Roads team for their contribution that led to the successful completion of 7 box culverts and a bridge, grading of over 1,000 kilometres and gravelling of about 400 kilometres of roads in the previous financial year,marking a significant step towards enhancing the county’s infrastructure.
In addition, the Deputy Governor lauded the MCAs for supporting the Governors transformative agenda underscoring how improved road infrastructure was crucial in unlocking the full potential of local businesses and famers in the region.

In their remarks, the legislative team expressed their readiness to allocate more resources to boost infrastructure development projects as they emphasised the importance of working together to meet their objectives and ensuring residents are served diligently.
The meeting was also attended by County Executives Engineer Joseph Lagat (Roads), Dr Abraham Serem (Health Services ), Acting County Secretary Ambrose Tarus, Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui (Roads) among others.
