Kenya Power Announces Planned Blackout in Three Regions on Sunday

Kenya Power has announced planned maintenance that will result in power interruption in parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Kisumu Counties on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The utility firm said the shutdown is to facilitate scheduled maintenance in the three regions.

Nairobi areas to experience power interruption today

Area: Part of Parklands

Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Areas to be affected include 4th Parklands, Masari Road, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, Suswa Road, Wangapala Road, KPLC Staff Quarters, Diamond 1 & 2, Presidential Escort and adjacent customers.

Area: Behind Kenya Pipeline along the Railway Line

Time: 9.00 A.M. – 5.00 P.M.

Areas to be affected are Eastlands College, Rubis Depot, Uzuri Foods, Mogadishu Road, Olkarau Road, Pate Road, Runyenjes Road, Cera Coating, Parts of Nanyuki Road and adjacent customers.

Which Eldoret areas will be without power today?

Parts of Uasin Gishu County

Area: Eldoret GK Prison

Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Areas that will experience the outage include Sirikwa Hotel, MUSCO Towers, County Government of Uasin Gishu, Goshen Hotel, Cicada Hotel, Eastern Avenue, Zion Mall, Komora, St. Matthews ACK, Moi Girls’ High School, Eldoret GK Prison and adjacent customers.

WESTERN REGION

Parts of Kisumu County

Area: Majengo, Mbale, Chavakali, Kaimosi

Time: 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

The affected areas are Shoka Maize Millers, Mudete Tea Factory, Sabatia Eye Hospital, Mbale Market, Serem Market, Majengo Market, Gambogi Market, Kitigu Goldmine, Chavakali Market, Iregi TTC, Kaimosi University, Makhokho and adjacent customers.
