KUCCPS Opens 30-Day Inter-Institutional Transfer Window for University and TVET Students

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a 30-day application window for students seeking to transfer between institutions.

According to a poster released by KUCCPS on Friday, July 17, 2026, the 2026 Inter-Institutional Transfer Application is now open to students who were recently placed in a university or TVET programme but wish to move to a different institution.

Who Qualifies for KUCCPs Inter-Institutional Transfer?

KUCCPS says the transfer window targets candidates from the 2023, 2024 and 2025 KCSE cohorts.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Meet the respective cut-off points for the course and institution they are applying to
  • Apply subject to available slots in the preferred institution and programme

Interested students have been directed to log in to the KUCCPS Student’s Portal to submit their transfer applications.

The application period will run for 30 days and will close on August 14, 2026.

KUCCPS has been urging placed students to take advantage of the window early to avoid last-minute rush.

The transfer exercise is part of KUCCPS’s ongoing efforts to give students flexibility in aligning their placement with their preferred institutions and career paths.
