Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago was among a host of leaders from Rift Valley that were feted during the fourth edition of the County Gala Awards 2022.
Mandago was named the best governor during a gala night held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Mombasa County.
He was also feted for strategic and diversity leadership.
Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra scooped two awards – most outstanding Member of Parliament in Kenya and Best MP in Rift Valley Region.
“The County Gala Awards 2022 4th Edition Ceremony took place last night at Sarova Whitesands Beach Hotel in Nyali Constituency, Mombasa County. Various leaders from both county and National Government were awarded for their exemplary work that has made them become the best leaders in levels they represent Countrywide.
Am humbled and grateful for being feted as the most outstanding Member of Parliament in Kenya and Best MP in Rift Valley Region,” Mishra posted on his Facebook page.
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui was named the most progressive governor while Prof Paul Chepkwony of Kericho scooped the Best Governor in Kenya award.
Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei was named the best Woman Rep in Rift Valley.
“Thank you to the County Gala Awards for this recognition,” Shollei tweeted.

- Best Governor in Kenya – Paul Chepknony (Kericho)
- Most Progressive Governor in Kenya – Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru)
- Best Nominated Senator in Kenya – Farhiya Ali Haji from Wajir County
- Most outstanding leadership award in Kenya – Ann Kananu (Nairobi)
- Best Governor in Rift Valley region – Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu)
- Most innovative Deputy Governor in Kenya – Joash Maangi (Kisii)
- Best County Assembly Speaker in Kenya – Hasha Mbone Mudeizi (Vihiga)
- Best Cabinet Secretary in Kenya – Amb (Dr) Amina Mohamed (Sports)
- Best Governor in the Central Region – James Nyoro (Kiambu)
- Best MP in Kenya and Rift Valley – Dr. Swarup Mishra (Kesses)
- Best MP in Baringo County – William Cheptumo (Baringo North)
The next County Gala Awards will be held in 2023.
