Members of the Kaleto Sacco in Kapseret sub-county are set for a major economic empowerment following a donation from the area Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi.
The Sacco is made up of 75 members drawn from Kapseret, Lemok, and Tuiyo.
On Monday, July 14, 2025, Sudi handed over a brand new matatu to the Sacco as part of his economic empowerment programme.

According to the legislator, the 11-seater matatu is luxuriously furnished and already has a logbook and number plate.

The matatu has already been added to the fleet of the Eldoret Crossroad Sacco
In addition, the MP gave the Kaleto Sacco four motorbikes and Ksh 600,000. The motorbike and money are meant to facilitate the members’ growth and ensure Sacco’s sustainability.
“As a follow-up to the Kapseret Empowerment Program, I’m happy to announce that I’ve empowered Kaleto Sacco, comprising 75 members from Kapseret, Lemok, and Tuiyo. The sacco received a brand new 11-seater matatu, luxuriously furnished, with logbook and number plate,” Sudi said, in a post on his social media pages.
“To further boost their economic prospects, I also provided 4 motorbikes and Ksh 600,000 to facilitate membership growth, expansion, and sustainability of the sacco’s activities. This initiative supports community development and economic empowerment,” he added.

In the last few months, Sudi has been donating various equipment to locals aimed at empowering them economically.

Some of the equipment he has issued includes motorbikes, milk containers, power saws and cooking gas, among others.

The MP also announced extending financial support to hustlers within his constituency to support their business ventures.
“Following the highly successful Kapseret Empowerment Program, I have expanded the initiative by providing cash grants to more than 2000 mama mbogas, youth and small-scale traders within Kapseret, each receiving Ksh 10,000 to boost their hustle,” the legislator announced.
“The funds have already been disbursed, with more cash grant support on the way. Impactful community empowerment remains a top priority in my agenda,” he added.
