Police officers in Elgeyo Marakwet County have launched a manhunt for a man suspected to have stabbed to death his lover.
Marakwet West Sub County Police Commander Bosita Omukolongolo says the man is suspected to have killed his lover by stabbing her with a knife on Saturday night.
The incident is said to have happened at a local entertainment joint in Kapsowar township.
“We received reports from locals that a man had stabbed to death his lover in Kapsowar. The two were enjoying a night together at an entertainment joint before the man stabbed the woman,” said the sub county police boss.
After committing the crime, the man escaped leaving behind a body of his bleeding lover.
The reason behind the cold blood murder has not yet been established.
“The body of the deceased was taken to the Kapsowar Mission Hospital,” said Omukolongolo.
This is even as the police affirmed that they have intensified hunt for the man so that he is arrested and arraigned in court.
He is likely to be charged with murder.
