The Greatest Marathoner of All Time Eliud Kipchoge has set a new world record in the 42 kilometers race.
Kipchoge crossed the line in 2 hours one minute and nine seconds (2:01:09) to win the 2022 Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

He improved on his previous world record by 30 seconds.
A win in Berlin Marathon also places Eliud Kipchoge level with marathon legend Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia in the number of wins at the same course.

They have both won it four times. No other Marathoner has such a fete.
Kipchoge had previously won Berlin Marathon in 2015, 2017 and 2018 editions. He finished second in the 2013 edition.
Berlin Marathon win affirms Kipchoge’s status as among the greatest marathoners in the world.

Eliud Kipchoge is a one time world champion and double Olympic Marathon champion.
The 37-year-old won his first individual world championship title in 2003 by winning the junior race at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and setting a world junior record over 5000 m on the track.
