Four police officers have finished in top positions in the just concluded Kenya Sports Shooting Championship, with DCI’s Agnes Muchiri scooping the top lady shooter position, handgun production category.
Muchiri, the current top lady shooter in the country, impressed spectators with her lightning speed that came in handy for clinching the top position.
She was followed closely by Caroline Kiama, from Chalbi, and fellow cop Irene Wanjiku who finished in the third position.
Inspector Samuel Chacha, from the General Service Unit, scooped the top award in the Standard division while Inspector Mohammed Adan from Nairobi Area settled for second in the Production division.
Civilian shooter Ibrahim Ndung’u who is Kenya’s top master shooter maintained his lead in the production category while Eng. Sammy Onyango finished second in the Standard division.
Cabinet Secretary for Sports Amb Dr. Amina Mohanmmed, the chief guest, congratulated the competitors for their professionalism in weapon handling and sporting spirit.
She congratulated the event organizers for a job well done, since Kenya was hosting the event for the first time.
While addressing the competitors, the president of the International Practical Shooting Confederation Vitaly Kryuchin, noted with satisfaction the level of preparedness displayed by the country in hosting the inaugural shooting competition, which attracted over 169 shooters from all over the world.
