Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has described President William Ruto as “a very smart politician of our time”.
In a post on his X handle, Amisi said Ruto is so daring that he is willing and ready to use money to achieve what he needs.
“Ruto is a very smart, vicious, conniving, calculative politician who uses money massively to achieve his goals,” Amisi posted.
The vocal legislator further noted that the Head of State has mastered politics and knows how to utilize any opportunity to his own advantage.
“Deal with him at angle theta! How Ruto outsmarted Uhuru in central last time. He took advantage of bromance between the two, gained goodwill from Uhuru support base, and remained close to people, and their leaders were a phone call away, unlike Uhuru, who was always absent,” Amisi asserted.
Will Raila help Ruto win re-election in 2027?
The ODM legislator, serving his second term in the National Assembly said the cordial working relationship between Ruto and Raila Odinga is likely to work for his 2027 Presidential bid.
Ruto has since named several key Raila allies to his ‘broad-based ’ cabinet.
“He will take advantage of the relationship, endear himself to Raila supporters, use resources on overzealous ODM leaders, people will say, he is the one bringing development since independence, we respect Raila but he is in AU, Ruto is our son too and other short stories; and while Raila is busy at #AU and absent from his people, Ruto will be loitering around the western hemisphere like his bedroom,” he added.
In addition, the youthful legislator argued that in 2027, Ruto will not need anyone’s endorsement in regions that were previously perceived as anti-Ruto.
“He will now make a coalition government with other regions using Baba’s support base. Take it or leave it, it is what it is! Kenya needs Renaissance!” Amisi said.
President Ruto has been courting the the support of Raila’s vote block (Nyanza, Western and Coast) which he hopes will be key in his re-election.
His main vote base in the 2022 general election – Mount Kenya – is already shaky following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as the deputy president.
