Former Kenyan envoy to Pakistan Prof. Julius Bitok and lawyer Kipchumba Karori are among over 100 aspirants that have challenged results for the recently conducted UDA nominations.
Amb. Prof. Bitok has challenged results for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race that Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja was declared winner.
Karori, on the other hand, has disputed results for the Senate nominations.
Governor Jackson Mandago was declared winner for Senate race.

Both Prof. Bitok and Karori claim the exercise was not free and fair, and want results nullified and a fresh nomination conducted.
According to the UDA National Elections Board, so far, 115 disputes in relation to the nomination have been received.
“94 of these are drawn from aspiring Members of County Assembly seat,” said NEB chairman Eng. Anthony Mwaura in a statement issued on Monday, April 18, 2022.
34 cases filed have been dispensed out of which 24 nominations results have been nullified and a repeat ordered.

UDA members in Kimumu and Karuna/Meibeki wards in Uasin Gishu are voting for a repeat of the nomination after results for the Thursday, April 14, 2022 exercise were nullified.
The UDA National Elections Board further says it received 15 cases in relation to the Member of Parliament nomination, where one case – for Naivasha, has been heard and determined.
Incumbent Jayne Kihara was awarded the UDA ticket after the Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee found that she won against her competitor by a single vote.

Results for Moiben Constituency were nullfied and a repeat ordered with Turbo aspirants also asking for a repeat.
It is not clear if they formally filed the case.
Only two cases have been filled disputing results for the governor and Senate seats – Uasin Gishu and Kajiado for gubernatorial nomination and Uasin Gishu and Embu for Senate.
“The Committee has undertaken to complete all matters by Thursday, 21st April 2022,” said the UDA elections board in the statement.
