Reuben Kigame Foundation Donates Wheelchair to Woman in Keiyo South

It was song and dance at the Kipsaos Full Gospel Church in Metkei Location, Elgeyo-Marakwet County as Pastor Barsulai dedicated a motorized wheelchair from Dr. Reuben Kigame and the Jenga Mkenya team.

The wheelchair was later handed to Jane Yego from Molol in the same Keiyo South sub-county.

How did Reuben Kigame identify Keiyo South woman?

Speaking at the service, Dr. Kigame said his foundation had been contacted for help through a man from Kipsaos identified as Wilfred Yegoh.

The veteran gospel musician noted that he did not want to send the chair but deliver it himself.

We drove hundreds of kilometres not only to hand over this chair but also to worship with the Kipsaos community and help them see the importance of integrating faith in God with social action,” Kigame said.

Citing Matthew 25, the 2027 presidential aspirant said: “Jesus will one day challenge all of us using the same standard of ‘I was hungry and you did not give me something to eat, thirsty and you did not give me water, and in prison but you did not visit me.”

We should not expect Jesus to come to Kipsaos or Kenya in person because, as He put it, whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto me,” he added.

What message did Reuben Kigame deliver to Metkei locals?

In addition, Kigame challenged the residents of Metkei and Kenyans at large to be sensitive to each other and realize the needs around them and reach out to intervene.

It may be a neighbour’s child who is unable to go to school. It maybe a mzee living alone because all the children now live in Nairobi or America. Or it may be an orphan or widow. True faith must reach out for the salvation of our souls, but also must include care ministries,” he said.

At the end of the service, the community thanked Dr. Kigame for his practical example of faith in God and resilience in standing against odds in life.

They indicated they were saddened when he was locked out of the race in 2022 but said they would continue to pray that God’s will be done in the next election.

It is God who chooses leaders and His time is the best. We wish you were our president because if you can care for people like us with the little resource and connections you have, we are sure that, given a chance to lead Kenya, your big heart would translate to equitable distribution of resources,” said Wilfred Yego, a local in the area.
