For a while now, Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut has been receiving treatment in hospital.
News about him being hospitalized surfaced several days ago after a number of political leaders from Uasin Gishu County paid him a visit.
Some of the leaders that visited the ailing MP were Kapseret legislator Oscar Sudi and billionaire businessman Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich alias Buzeki who is aspiring to be the next Governor of Uasin Gishu.
But even as they visited Chepkut in hospital and posted photos of the visit on their social media platforms, the politicians never revealed what their colleague was ailing from.
However, the reason why the first-time legislator is in hospital has finally been revealed.
According to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Chepkut was recently involved in an accident. The Senator visited the MP who is still in hospital after which he tweeted about his situation.

“Today I visited our colleague Hon. William Chepkut (Ainabkoi) at the hospital where he has been recuperating from injuries sustained recently in an accident. Wished him a very quick recovery,” Murkomen tweeted alongside a number of photos.
Chepkut was elected MP in 2017 as an independent candidate, beating the then MP Samuel Chepkonga who had controversially been awarded a Jubilee ticket after a repeat vote for nomination in one polling station – Munyaka.
He is expected to seek re-election in 2022 using a party not yet known as he has not been associating himself with the popular party in the county – United Democratic Alliance (UDA) led by Deputy President William Ruto.
