President William Ruto will in the next few days, for the first time since his inauguration, attend an event in his home county – Uasin Gishu.
Ruto, who was inaugurated the first President of Kenya has not yet stepped foot in Uasin Gishu, at least official, since he addressed a series of rallies during the August 9 poll campaigns.
But after at least three months in office, he is now set for a return to the county that he calls home.

On Christmas Day, the Head of State has been scheduled to attend a thanksgiving prayers service.
The service will be held at the Eldoret Sports Club.
Already political leaders from the county have held meetings to ensure the success of the event.
On Tuesday, several Members of Parliament from Uasin Gishu County held a meeting with Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Dominic Kimengich as part of the planning.

“Joined Bishop Dominic Kimengich at the Cathedral Catholic Eldoret in preparations for the presidential Thanks Giving and Christmas celebration to be held on the 25th at Sports Club Eldoret,” Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat who attended the meeting posted on his verified Facebook page.
Other MPs that were present include Janet Rotich (Turbo), Samuel Chepkonga (Ainabkoi) and Joseph Wainaina (nominated).
Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot was also present.
Further, posters shared by several Uasin Gishu politicians indicate that all elected leaders from the region will be present.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is also expected to attend.
