Eldoret has firmly established itself as one of Kenya’s most business-friendly cities, a status reinforced by its past recognition in the World Bank’s ease of doing business surveys.

Since achieving city status, Eldoret has experienced a significant influx of investment, with billions of shillings pouring into its economy from both local and international investors.

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Eldoret City Board Chairman Julius Kitur presided over the grand opening of a new Samsung store at Rupa Mall, highlighting the city’s increasing allure to global brands.

In his address, Kitur lauded Eldoret’s favourable business climate, crediting the county government’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for investment.

Our Governor committed to fostering the best business climate through his Nguzo Kumi agenda, and we are witnessing the fruits of that promise with heightened investor confidence in our city,” Kitur said.

He also shared key projects driving economic growth, such as the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) at Cherunya and the County Aggregation and Investment Park in Moiben. These initiatives provide essential platforms for business expansion and economic diversification.

The City Board Chair also took the opportunity to encourage Samsung to establish a repair centre in Eldoret, addressing the current inconvenience faced by customers who must send their devices to Nairobi for servicing.

Establishing a repair centre here would greatly benefit our customers and further entrench Samsung’s presence in Eldoret,” he added.

Eldoret’s strategic location, modern infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies continue to make it a standout destination for business in Kenya. As an economic hub in the Rift Valley, the city boasts a robust transport network, including an international airport and major highways that enhance trade and logistics efficiency.

With its blend of strategic advantages and proactive governance supported by a skilled workforce and a rapidly growing consumer market, Eldoret is well-positioned to maintain its momentum as a leading investment destination in Kenya.
