The County Government will seek an out of court agreement to allow more than 100 nurses, who were hired but later stopped by a court order, to report to work.
Governor George Natembeya said this move will boost human resources in all health facilities. He said it will also improve service delivery.
Natembeya spoke in Kwanza after officially opening the new modern Kwanza Sub County Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The facility was sponsored by M-Pesa Foundation in partnership with the county government.

The governor asked health workers in Trans Nzoia hospitals to work effectively.
He said this will ensure proper health service delivery adding that health is among his top priorities.
He had promised this during the 2022 campaigns.
Natembeya warns Trans Nzoia health workers running private clinics
Meanwhile, Natembeya warned health workers who own private clinics to give priority to public hospitals where they are employed.
He said they should only attend to their private clinics after completing their full working hours in public facilities.
“Failure to adhere to this, I will close those private clinics and chemists operating near our public hospitals,” said Natembeya.
He, however, promised that his administration will address the medics’ demands.
In addition, the county boss asked them to reciprocate by serving the full hours required at their hospitals.
The governor urged the County Assembly to hasten the vetting of the new Trans Nzoia County Public Service Board.
He said the new board should work effectively. He also asked it to consider local residents during recruitment.
Earlier, Governor Natembeya officially opened the Kwanza Sub County Administrator’s office which will help the county easily discharge duties in the area.

Also present were M-Pesa Foundation Chairman Joseph Ogutu, County Secretary Truphosa Amere, and County Assembly Clerk Moses Lupao.
Members of the County Executive Committee attended the event. Several MCAs were also present.
