Uasin Gishu Bags Two Nominated Slots – Full List of Nominated MPs, Senators

Uasin Gishu County has two out of the 32 nominated Members of Parliament that IEBC gazetted on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

The electoral body published the list of the nominated individuals that will be sitting in the National Assembly and the Senate.

At the National Assembly, there were 12 slots and another 20 slots in the Senate

And of the two from Uasin Gishu, one has been nominated to the National Assembly and another to Senate.

Outgoing Uasin Gishu Senator Prof. Margaret Kamar secured a nomination to the Senate through the Jubilee party.

Kamar who also served as the Senate Deputy Speaker opted not to seek a second term.

Another individual from Uasin Gishu that has been nominated is businessman Joseph Wainaina.

The prominent businessperson was nominated to the National Assembly through the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Aside from the two, other popular figures that have secured nomination slots include UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina, outgoing Murang’a County Woman MP Sabina Chege, and popular Bishop Jackson Kosgey.

Bishop Kosgey is the father to popular gospel musician Emmy Kosgey.

Further, several party nomination losers have also gotten a political lifeline among them Joyce Korir, Karen Nyamu, Peris Tobiko and Soiypan Tuya.
