The County Government of Uasin Gishu has extended the payment deadlines for various business and transport-related fees.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim said the decision follows consultations with the business community and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).
Uasin Gishu extends deadline for licences renewals
The extension, Governor Bii said, covers single business permits, land rates, and signage fees, which were initially due on March 31, 2025.
Sacco-related licenses including those for matatus, boda Blbodas, transporters, taxis, and tuktuks, originally due on April 7, 2025 have also been extended.
The new deadline for all the payments is now Friday, April 11, 2025.
“Following requests from the business community and engagements with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), I wish to announce an extension of the payment deadline,” Bii said in part of the statement.
The governor, however, urged compliance within the extended window, emphasizing the importance of timely payments for orderly county operations.
“We urge all business operators and transport stakeholders to take advantage of this extension and ensure compliance within the extended period,” he stated.

The move is expected to offer relief to hundreds of business and transport sector operators across the county, providing them with a brief reprieve to settle their dues without penalties.
