Uasin Gishu MCAs support ongoing initiatives to enhance emergency services in the county

The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu’s Committee of Roads has expressed its commitment to supporting initiatives by Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s administration to enhance and bring emergency services closer to people.

The Roads Committee members, led by their chairman, Gilbert Chepkonga, toured the Eldoret City fire station, where they held a meeting with staff on a discussion that centred on key priority areas that will help improve service delivery by the fire and rescue team to the residents of Uasin Gishu.

Our focus is to ensure we support the executive in having a model fire station and enhance this teamwork of responding to emergencies and equipping substations,” Chepkonga said.

We have to remain steadfast. We are here to support you, and I want to assure you that we will ensure the resolutions made in this meeting are followed and implemented,” he added.

During the meeting, Governor Dr. Bii was commended for his move to recognise the fire and rescue section as a directorate with a leadership structure, as the team pledged to continue making it more vibrant.

On behalf of Soy residents, I want to thank you for your swift response recently when we had an incident at Kipsangui High School.l wish to see more engagements with you and also with other partners,” MCA Isaac Chirchir said.
