Uasin Gishu County Executive for Roads, Transport and Public Works Eng. Joseph Lagat has emphasized the commitment by Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii-led administration to continue offering excellent services to the residents.
Speaking on Tuesday as he led his team during an inaugural meeting with Geoffrey Kirwa Tanui (the newly appointed chief officer for the department), Eng. Lagat extended a warm welcome to Tanui to the department, which he termed as critical in the fulfilment of Governor Dr. Bii’s Nguzo number six on infrastructure development for prosperity and prosperity.
The new Chief Officer takes over from Engineer Abraham Kiptalam.

“I believe you will fit in this docket very fast. Residents of Uasin Gishu have high expectations in this department. Let us continue to constantly consult and find solutions as we move forward to greater heights. We should strive to ensure we deliver quality road projects across the entire county,” he stated.
While narrating his expectations, the newly appointed chief officer expressed his readiness and enthusiasm to work with the team with a key objective of realizing Governor Bii’s envisioned development goals.
“I am happy to join this able and completed team; it’s all about delivery; we have to deliver for the people of Uasin Gishu under the leadership of the governor; I will give you all the support and goodwill to ensure the implementation of the earmarked projects,” he highlighted.
Among those presents include; Eng. Julius Ronoh (Roads), Benjamin Kirongo (Public Works), Lazarus Sile (Fire and Rescue) Eng.Abraham Misoi (Transport and Mechanical) Mark Tarus (Director Administration) and Stella Birech (Human Resource).
New Uasin Gishu Public Service Management Chief Officer
Meanwhile, Ruth Samoei has officially taken over as County Government of Uasin Gishu’s Chief Officer for Public Service Management.
Samoei assumes the role of Nathan Korir, who served in an acting capacity and has now been redeployed to the Department of Trade, also in an acting capacity.
During the handover ceremony, Samoei, formerly the Chief Officer for Cooperatives, articulated her vision for an efficient department.

She pledged to uphold the principles of Nguzo Kumi, calling for collective dedication to delivering high-quality service to the county.
“This marks the beginning of a new era of doing things. Together, we must ensure that our department is a beacon of professionalism, teamwork, and efficiency,” she said.
