The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Tuesday hosted officials from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and AMPATH UZIMA in continuous collaboration and support to strengthen the healthcare system in the County.
The partnership recognises the importance of donor support in addressing health challenges in the areas of HIV diagnosis, health education at the community level, patient enrollment, and monitoring and evaluation.
Speaking during a courtesy call in his office, County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Dr. Abraham Serem acknowledged the partnership in improving the health outcomes of the County’s residents.

Serem also noted that they have been able to enhance its HIV diagnosis and treatment services, as well as promote health education at the community level.
“With the help of USAID and AMPATH UZIMA, the County has implemented robust systems to track and monitor HIV patients, ensuring that they receive the necessary care and treatment which has improved patient outcomes and overall healthcare delivery in the County,” said Dr Serem.
Strengthen the health system
He further noted the County government’s commitment to working hand in hand with the partners to strengthen the health system and improve health outcomes for its residents as outlined in Governor Bii’s Nguzo Kumi blueprint.

Reuben Kipsang representing the officials from USAID and AMPATH UZIMA expressed their commitment to continue supporting the County in its endeavours to address health challenges and strengthen the health system.
“By working together, we will be able to leverage our expertise and resources to make a significant impact on the health of the residents,” said Kipsang.
