The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has collected millions of shillings from over 9,000 aspirants who have expressed interest of vying for various seats under its ticket in 2027.
UDA had invited individuals planning to vie for political seats in the upcoming general election to register.
The ruling party had set registration fee at Ksh 2,000 for those eyeing MCA seats, Ksh 5,000 for senator, Member of Parliament and Woman Rep positions and Ksh 10,000 for gubernatorial aspirants.
Those eyeing the presidency on the UDA party were to pay Ksh 100,00.
How many aspirants has UDA registered?
According to the deputy party leader Kithure Kindiki, so far, 9,165 aspirants have applied.

Of those who have applied to be aspirants under UDA, 139 are for the gubernatorial seats and 240 for Senate.
“139 aspirants will compete for the 47 Governor seats, 240 aspirants for the 47 elected Senator seats, 274 aspirants targeting the 47 Woman Representative seats, 1205 aspirants are chasing the 290 National Assembly seats, and a massive 7307 aspirants will be competing for the available 1450 elected ward representative seats,” Kindiki said on Monday, February 2, 2026.
He said registration of aspirants will continue until the statutory limit of 90 days prior to the election date.
This means the number of likely to rise with more aspirants likely to join the aspirants list.
With the registration ongoing, the party is scheduled to hold a meeting with all the registered aspirants this week.
President William Ruto who is also the UDA party leader is expected to host the event at State House, Nairobi.
“The first UDA Party Aspirants Forum takes place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 8.00 am,” Kindiki said.

UDA is currently the largest single party in terms of the number of elected leaders at the National Assembly, Senate and County Assemblies.
